CSR & Sustainability

Page is under construction content will be update soon.

What is happening in the world and why does Siddiqsons Industries care about it?

We being a socially conscious and responsible industrialist of society believe the mankind should be careful with the resources they use to manufacture a product. People are using more resources than the earth can manage to afford and that is the sole reason of the rapid increase in air pollution all over the world. The Earth Overshoot Day marks the date when humanity’s demand for ecological sources and services in a given year exceeds what the planet can regenerate in a year. The remainder of the year corresponds to global overshoot. We keep growing this deficit by liquidating the earth’s natural capital and accumulating waste, primarily carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

Siddiqsons believes that every industry has to take its responsibility and we are committed to doing our part. Important steps for the textile industry are to reduce the use of water, electricity and gas, eliminating hazardous chemicals and improving labor conditions. Currently, the textile industry, including the production of all clothes people wear, contributes to around 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Also, the fashion industry produces about 20% of global wastewater and textile dyeing is the second largest polluter of clean water globally, after agriculture so, there is plenty to do.

Sustainability goal is being achieved in variety of ways such as planting trees, using Oeko certified process along with installing an effluent treatment plant for a better reuse of the industrial waste water.

We are in the process of reducing our dyeing pollution by installing an Effluent Treatment Plant. We are also closely working with dyes and chemical supplier to include their eco friendly products in our range.

We are seeking input from all our internal and external stake holders, including our customers to suppliers and the employees who are writing our ecological sustainability & CSR plan.

We are strategizing to publish the plan by the end of June 2020 to be implemented by the June of 2022 – which is a 2 year plan from now. Yes that’s the time we have given to our suppliers, managers and teams to execute our plan of improving our carbon footprint and the social impact. We still have a lot of work to do and we are excited to see where we’ll be in the coming year. Teams are becoming enthusiastic about sustainability and they are bringing up new ideas and innovations. Our projects themselves tell a lot about their own efforts for a better and more sustainable future.

OEKO CERTIFICATION

STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is a worldwide consistent, independent testing and certification system for raw, semi-finished, and finished textile products at all processing levels, as well as for accessories .This Standard ensures that our fabrics has been tested and certified to be free from harmful dyes and chemicals.
